Senior Corporate Accountant
ICM Asset Management is an alternative asset manager focused on owning, operating and investing in real assets. We offer retail, private client and institutional investors an array of investment opportunities focused on real estate, private equity, private debt and infrastructure strategies. We are seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant who will be responsible for oversight of general accounting, internal auditing, and budgetary controls of Corporate Accounting.
This opportunity is based in Calgary, Alberta and will be reporting to the CFO.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee issuing of checks / payment of invoices / accounts receivable
- Prepare monthly / quarterly/annual financial statements for internal and external parties
- Liaise with management staff and advise them on cost management, cost control measures and the cost effectiveness of their program areas
- Quarterly consolidation of corporate entities, variance analysis
- Manage consolidated cash flow requirements and oversee internal system of handling funds
- Maintain year-end working papers and spreadsheets and assist with preparation for any audits or independent reviews
- Complete and/or review monthly reconciliation for all corporate entities
- Maintain an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all financial and bookkeeping activities
- Coordinate and prepare the budget and financial forecasts, analyze and report variances
- Assist in tax planning and compliance with Federal, Provincial and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required
- CGA designation is considered an asset
- 5+ years of experience in financial accounting
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Experience with Yardi is considered an asset
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Word, and proficient in Excel
- Experience with payroll and benefits considered an asset
- Accuracy and attention to detail while working under tight deadlines.
- Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments and key business partners
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
