ICM Crescendo Music Royalty Fund Acquires Writer and Co-Publishing Rights to Hit Song “The Middle”

(Calgary, Alberta) ICM Crescendo Music Royalty Fund acquired writer and co-publishing royalty rights to a collection of hit pop songs from 4x Grammy-nominated, multi-Platinum writer-producer Marcus Lomax.

Marcus Lomax aka “MarcLo” is a member of hit writing and production collective The Monsters & Strangerz.

The Grammy-nominated, multi-Platinum writer-producer notably served as one of the core collaborators on the 2018 global smash hit “The Middle” by Zedd, Maren Morris and Grey, along with co-writing megahits Miley Cyrus and Dua Lipa’s “Prisoner” and “Love You Different (feat. Beam)” from Justin Bieber’s #1 Billboard 2001 album Justice.

The acquisition also includes MarcLo’s interests in “Hate Me” recorded by Ellie Goulding and Juice WRLD and “Levels” recorded by Nick Jonas.

“The Middle” was nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards.  “The Middle” has over 1.4 billion Spotify streams and set a record for the most consecutive weeks spent at No.1 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.

“We’re privileged to be able to include the works from MarcLo into our growing portfolio,” said David Vankka, lead Portfolio Manager of ICM Crescendo Music Royalty Fund. “The quality of his songwriting, creating hits like “The Middle”, should be relevant and stand the test of time for our investors.”
