ICM Crescendo Expands Music Royalties Portfolio with Acquisition of Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber Assets

(June 2025 – Calgary, Alberta) The ICM Crescendo Music Royalty Fund is proud to announce the acquisition of the rights to the songwriting catalog of acclaimed American songwriter and producer Steven Franks featuring hit tracks by Ariana Grande. Franks is a Minneapolis native and began working with Ariana Grande through renowned producer Tommy Brown. Their collaboration began in 2015 with “Christmas & Chill” and expanded into Grande’s 2016 album Dangerous Woman, where Franks co-wrote standout tracks including “Let Me Love You” and “Knew Better / Forever Boy”. His influence on Grande’s discography grew significantly with the 2020 album Positions, where Franks co-wrote nine tracks including the Billboard Hot 100 topping titles, “Positions”, “34+35”, “Motive”, and fan favourite “POV”.
This acquisition includes several top-ranked Ariana Grande tracks, among the works now under ICM ownership are hits such as “Positions”, “34+35”, and “Boyfriend”, each of which has amassed over 1 billion streams across streaming platforms. This acquisition also includes Franks’ work on Justin Bieber’s hit “Holy” featuring Chance the Rapper and Blackpink’s “Ice Cream” featuring Selena Gomez, further highlighting his versatility across pop, R&B, and hip-hop genres.
Grande, currently ranked as the 11th most listened to artist in the world on Spotify, brings substantial global exposure to the Fund through her international pop culture resonance. This acquisition further strengthens CMRF’s strategic focus on timeless, income generating assets with global reach.
