ICM Bluebird Canadian Self Storage Fund Announces Grand Reopening of Johnson St. Site in Victoria

(May 2025 – Calgary, Alberta) The ICM Bluebird Canadian Self Storage LP (the “Fund”) is pleased to announce the grand reopening of its facility at 826 Johnson Street, located in the heart of Victoria’s rapidly growing downtown core. This centrally located property offers 240 modern storage units, now available for lease to both residential and business tenants.

Originally erected in 1901, 826 Johnson Street holds the distinction of being the oldest self-storage facility in North America. The building has a rich and storied past, once owned by Cameron & Caldwell, it began as a livery stable and horse-drawn taxi service before transitioning into a garage for buses and taxis as the city evolved. For decades since, it has served as a storage facility, and it now enters a new chapter under the Fund’s ownership.

This recently redeveloped property strengthens the Fund’s growing portfolio of Class ‘A’ self-storage assets across Canada. The Johnson Street location serves as a flagship facility in Victoria, complementing the Fund’s 2023 acquisition of the nearby Princess Avenue site, and reaffirming its strategy of acquiring high-quality, institutionally managed storage properties nationwide.
