ICM Asset Management to Begin Construction of Build-to-Suit Industrial Project for a Large International Firm in Calgary, Alberta

(June 22, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta) ICM Asset Management is pleased to announce that it is set to break ground on a 46,500 SF build-to-suit industrial development project in Calgary, Alberta. The industrial building will be constructed as a single-tenant facility, designed for both manufacturing and distribution uses. The project will be home to Doka Canada Ltd., a subsidiary of international construction firm Doka GmbH, with locations across 70 countries. The Calgary facility will run the company’s Western Canadian manufacturing, maintenance, and distribution operations.

“We’ve been working with the team at Doka and Cypress Real Estate Group on this transaction since the spring of 2020. With all of the effort that the group has put in over the past twelve months, we are excited to close the land purchase and begin construction,” said John Courtliff, Managing Director of ICM Asset Management. “We remain committed to Alberta and continue to search for quality investment opportunities to further grow and diversify our portfolio.”

The industrial development project is in the Point Trotter submarket in Southeast Calgary with access to major arterial roads, including Glenmore Trail and Stoney Trail. Upon completion, the property will include 6,000 SF of office space, 28’ clear ceiling height, five overhead doors, and one 24’ x 20.5’ folding door servicing one ten-tonne crane system with a bridge extending into the yard.

The project is to be delivered in early 2022 by ICM Property Developments, a subsidiary of ICM Asset Management.
