We are seeking a Financial Analyst / Investment Associate to support the investment management team in performing market research, assisting in the generation of financial projections and underwriting models, and updating and maintaining portfolio models.
The Financial Analyst must be a good team player, have excellent knowledge of accounting and financial analysis techniques, possess a desire to take on new challenges, and work hard to achieve time sensitive objectives. The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years of related work experience and be expected to have very strong Microsoft Office/Excel skills and be able to explore financial data and drive the process of organizing and compiling information and reports from financial statements and other sources. Experience with Argus Real Estate Software will be an asset.
Day-to-day responsibilities for the Analyst include:
Compile and investigate financial information and documentation
Input and interpret current and historical data in Argus Real Estate Software
Develop and maintain complex Excel models for current and prospective holdings with the goal of forecasting and monitoring portfolio performance
Maintain knowledge of current holdings and generate periodic asset and portfolio reports for management
Work with management to generate quarterly and annual reports for the company’s funds and investments
Assist the investment team in underwriting new investment opportunities and support the creation of investment committee summary packages for new investments
Accept ownership for accomplishing new and different requests/objectives from management team
Explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Research macroeconomic changes, keep appraised of pertinent developments within the industry, and summarize research findings into actionable conclusions.
Any other tasks that the management team may request of the analyst

Interested in real estate and the investment industry in general
Have a bachelor’s degree and are currently working or have worked for a minimum of two years in a similarly analytical role. At minimum, completed CFA Level I and committed to becoming a CFA charterholder.
Analytical by nature and proficient in your understanding of financial statements and financial reporting
Comfortable making assumptions as is required in generating financial projections and understand the importance of substantiating any assumptions with research and critical thinking
A hard worker and willing to learn new skills
Able to demonstrate excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask to meet stringent deadlines
Have excellent written and oral communication skills
Able to establish and maintain positive working relationships
Able to work independently and as a team member
Very knowledgeable in MS Office, particularly in Excel, and willing to learn new skills and software
